During her stay the Berlin Wall was built – she remained with us for a year or two with her daughter, and the Schwibbogen became part of our family. For many winters it stood on the tiled stove and was as much a part of Advent as the scent of Christmas cookies.

Details & Condition

Origin: Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), Germany

Material: natural wood

Length: 30 cm / 11.8 in

Depth: 7 cm / 2.8 in

Height: 13.5 cm / 5.3 in

Candles: 4 (not included)

Date: c. 1960–1961

Condition: very nice; the songbook is broken off on 2 figures, one scratch on the back

Uses

As an Advent light on a windowsill, dresser or tiled stove – a piece of genuine Erzgebirge Christmas tradition and a heartfelt holiday gift.

Safety Note

Never leave burning candles unattended; keep away from wood and curtains.
