Austrian Brass Folk Costume Badge, Tyrolean Couple – Vintage, 1950s

A beautiful brass folk costume badge showing a couple dressed in traditional Tyrolean costume: the woman wears a dirndl with an apron and flat shoes, the man leather trousers, boots and a wool jacket.

Background

This badge was not originally a hiking badge – it was riveted to a metal object on the back, later removed with the rivet remains filed down. The nail under the man's arm was added afterward so the badge could be nailed onto a walking stick; it works just as well on a wooden beam indoors.
