Antique Kitchen Set: Brass Ladle & Spoon with Wooden Handles, plus Mettlach Floral Trivet – Austria, before 1950

An atmospheric set of three old kitchen pieces: a ladle and a large brass spoon with hand-carved wooden handles, plus a porcelain trivet on a metal frame with summery floral decor.

Origin

The ladle and spoon probably come from Austria, from the first half of the 20th century; the brass has darkened over time and bears a noble patina. The trivet is marked "Made in Germany – Saar – Mettlach" and shows a bouquet of poppies, peonies, foxgloves, pansies, marigolds and a cornflower.
