A Carlsbad spa pot from the Slavkov (Schlaggenwald) porcelain manufactory, founded in 1792 — a piece of living spa history from Bohemia, found in Baden bei Wien.
What is a spa pot?
The Carlsbad spa pot is the characteristic drinking vessel of Central European spa culture. The hollow drinking spout at the end of the handle allows for slow drinking of mineral spring water — a method practiced in Bohemian spa towns since the 18th century. Today, these pots are sought-after collector's items.

Place of discovery
Hand-picked at a flea market in Baden bei Wien, Lower Austria. Shipped from Austria, carefully packaged.
Baden bei Wien, where the thermal springs and the memory of imperial spa culture are still palpable in the architecture. Someone had drunk from it, slowly, as the doctor had recommended. The spring water, the colonnade, the measured pace of a cure.
