About the Manufactory

The history of Gmundner Keramik goes back a long way, as archaeological finds in Gmunden at the northern end of Lake Traunsee prove. It was mentioned in a document as early as 1492. In the following decades and centuries the company focused on figural art. When Johannes von Hohenberg took over the manufactory in 1968, his main focus was on high-quality tableware, for which Gmundner Keramik is world-famous today. Even today, all work steps – from preparing the raw material to painting – are carried out 100% in Austria.

Condition

Eisenstadt. The little swan stood in a row of small animals as if it had mingled among them unnoticed. Its neck curved so gracefully that the slight wear on its beak was hardly noticeable. Some things aren't large, but they glide through every shelf.
