Delicate butterflies, fine gold accents and a rim that lets the light through: these three porcelain plates come from the Burg Lindau manufactory and feature an intricate reticulated (pierced) pattern. Since the factory ceased production in 1990, pieces like these are becoming harder to find.
Decoration and Craftsmanship
The center of each plate shows a painting of butterflies, finished with hand-painted gold accents. The wide rim is pierced with small openings reminiscent of lace, giving the porcelain a special lightness. As a Grandmillennial plate wall, in a Cottagecore kitchen or in a display cabinet, they show all their charm.

The Scouts’ flea market in Zwettl. The three plates lay stacked in a crate, and only when one was held up to the window did its rim draw a pattern of light on the floor. A factory can disappear, yet what it made still casts shadow and light. Perhaps that is the quietest way to live on.
