About the Maker

The company name comes from founder Christian Seltmann, who established it in 1910 in the Bavarian town of Weiden. Seltmann Weiden became famous for its utility and luxury porcelain and still produces exclusively in Germany today. In 1957 the company acquired the royal-privileged Tettau porcelain factory, founded in 1794; further traditional firms joined after 1990.

The base bears the mark "Seltmann Weiden Bavaria, W. Germany" in green, with brand number 151.
