This elegant sugar tongs from the German silver manufacturer Wilkens is a high-quality piece with the "90" hallmark, indicating solid silver plating. The cutlery dates from the mid-20th century and features the classic, timeless design for which Wilkens is renowned.
Wilkens & Söhne from Bremen is one of the most traditional manufacturers of silverware in Germany and has stood for high-quality workmanship and durable quality since the 19th century. Silver-plated cutlery with a 90-grade plating was produced for daily use as well as for festively set tables.
The sugar tongs are ideal for serving sugar cubes, chocolates, or small sweets and perfectly complement a stylish coffee or tea set. They are also beautifully suited as a collector's item or as a decorative element in a vintage kitchen.
The tongs are in good condition with a light patina, which is common for silver-plated cutlery of this age and can be cleaned if desired.
