This two-piece carving set, consisting of a long knife and a matching meat fork, was probably made in Germany or Austria in the first half of the 20th century.
Such serving sets were traditionally used for carving and serving roasts or poultry and were part of the equipment of upscale households. The handles are made of wood and decorated with embossed metal ferrules, giving the set a classic, period-appropriate appearance.
The metal parts show a slight age-related patina, but are overall in very good condition. This set is as interesting for collectors of old kitchen and table implements as it is for lovers of historical kitchen decoration.
The set can be used decoratively as well as continuing to serve food.
Material: Metal, wood

Zwettl, autumn market. The carving set with wooden handles feels so right in the hand that you understand: for the Sunday roast, people once took their time. And the right tools.
