Motif and Design
The motif depicts Kyoto's golden Kinkaku-ji pavilion amid pine trees and calm water. The etching is set into a glossy, jet-black porcelain body shaped like a folded fan, with a scalloped, gilded rim.

The piece comes with its original back label describing the long history of Chokin art.
