A delightful pair of English sewing miniatures in heavy gilt brass: a hedgehog pin cushion with an olive-green velvet pad and a little pineapple pot with a slotted lid – both stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" on the base.

Design

The hedgehog has finely textured golden quills and sparkling amber-toned rhinestone eyes; the pineapple is richly detailed. Together they make a charming ensemble for a sewing table, vanity or display cabinet.

• Condition: very nice; gilding bright, velvet clean and firm, stones securely set; the white inner lining of the pineapple shows fine age crazing
