An oval fruit bowl made of silver-plated wire, ring by ring joined to form a fine mesh: a strong braided rim on the outside, a radial net on the inside, converging in the middle to a braided rosette. Light as a basket, cool as metal – this vintage wire mesh brings structure and light to any set table.
Material and Craftsmanship
Silver-plated metal, woven and twisted from individual wires. The braided edge, spokes, and bottom rosette are crafted separately and then connected. No hallmark, brand, or manufacturer's details are visible on this piece – thus, the silver content and workshop remain unknown.

Age
Estimated ca. 1960s to 1980s. The uniform wire thickness and regularly recurring braiding suggest serial handcraft rather than a piece from before 1925. Therefore, it is considered vintage and explicitly not antique.
Condition
Stable and true to form, no loose or broken wires, no warping. The silver plating has aged unevenly: the outer braided rim has darkened and shows warm, coppery tones in places, while the bottom and inner spokes have remained bright and silvery. This contrast was deliberately left and not polished away. Fine scratches and tarnish marks are consistent with age.
Usage
As a fruit bowl for apples, citrus fruits, or grapes, as a bread basket, as storage for onions and garlic, for napkins, or as a purely decorative bowl. The open mesh allows air to circulate around the fruit and casts a delicate shadow pattern on light surfaces. Not dishwasher safe – please only wipe dry or clean briefly by hand. For moist or acidic foods, place a napkin or plate underneath.
