A small gilded box with a polished green agate stone lid — a quiet object with a great presence. Found at the monthly Sunday flea market in Baden bei Wien, Lower Austria.

Dimensions: 2.6 × 2.6 × 1.3 cm.
Material: Gold-tone metal (brass or zinc alloy), white enamel or porcelain lining inside. Lid with square polished green agate or serpentinite, natural cloud pattern. Embossed acanthus and tendril ornament running around. Cord border on the lid frame. Latch and hinge intact. Probably made between the 1950s and 1970s.
Condition
Vintage, used. The gilding shows age-appropriate wear and patina on the edges and clasp. The agate stone is undamaged, the lining is clean. The piece is fully functional. Price is for 1 piece.
