A finely chased Art Deco cake server from the interwar period, by the famous Austrian cutlery maker Krupp Berndorf. The cake server is most likely made of alpaca silver (nickel silver).

About the Material

Alpaca silver is a silvery-white to yellow-shining alloy of 47–64% copper, 10–25% nickel and 15–42% zinc. It was developed in 1823 as the result of a German competition to create an alloy visually most similar to silver.
